Analisis Faktor yang Memengaruhi Minat Memilih Jurusan Akuntansi

Career choices are often influenced by educational background, including the decision to become an accountant. While the accounting profession has faced significant disruption from technology over the past decade, accountants remain essential to the business world and the economy. This study aims to analyze the influence of career perceptions, parental influence, and artificial intelligence (AI) on students' interest in choosing an accounting major. This is a descriptive quantitative study utilizing primary data collected via questionnaires through convenience and snowball sampling methods. Data were obtained from 160 respondents and analyzed using multiple linear regression. The results indicate that parental influence has a positive effect and significant effect on students’ interest, whereas career and AI information have positive but insignificant effects on students’ interest in choosing an accounting major. Together, these three variables explain 64.6% of the variation in students' interest in selecting an accounting major. The study suggests that schools should enhance students' and parents' understanding of accounting careers by engaging accounting professionals who already utilize AI in their work.
