Abstract (10pt Bold, Times New Roman)

This guideline is a new format as well as a manuscript / article template used in articles published in Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia starting in 2024. Articles begin with Article Title, Author Name, Author Affiliation Address, followed by an abstract written in Times New Roman (Times New Roman) for 150 -200 words. Especially for Abstract, the text is written with a left margin of 35 mm and a right margin of 30 mm with a font size of 10 pt and in Times New Roman typeface as well as one spacing between lines. If the article is in Indonesian, then the abstract must be written in both, Indonesian and English. If the article is in English, the abstract must be written in English only. The Abstract section must contain the core problems to be put forward, the objectives, the method used, the scientific findings obtained, and a brief conclusion. Abstracts for each language should only be typed in one paragraph and one column format.

Key words: writing instructions; author guidelines; Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia; article templates; writing style (at least five items)

1. Introduction

Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia (e-ISSN : 3031-3406, p-ISSN : 3031-3414); https://journal.areai.or.id/index.php/jepi) is a peer-reviewed journal that publishes scientific articles from various engineering fields. The articles published in the Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia include the results of original scientific research (top priority), scientific review articles that are new (not priority), or comments or criticisms of writings in the Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia published by the Asosiasi Riset Ekonomi dan Akuntansi Indonesia. Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia accepts manuscripts or articles from various academics and researchers, both national and international.

Articles published in the Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia are articles that have been reviewed by Peer Reviewers. Starting in 2024, Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia only accepts articles originating from original research results (top priority), and scientific review articles that are new (not priority) (Bekker et al., 1999; Bezuidenhout et al., 2009). The decision of acceptance or rejection a scientific article submitted to this journal is the right of the Editorial Board based on the recommendation of Peer Reviewers (Bhaktavatsalam & Choudhury, 1995).

2. Writing The Title, Author Name, and Affiliation Address

The article title is written in the top center of the first page. Author's name (without academic degree) and author affiliation address are written centered under the article title. The space line distance between the title and the author's name is 2 spaces, while the distance between the author's affiliation address and the abstract title is 1 space. Keywords must be written under the abstract text for each language, arranged in alphabetical order and separated by a semicolon with a total of 5 words.

The Responsible Author or Corresponding Author must be marked with a superscript asterisk "*". At the bottom of the left column of the first page / abstract, a superscript asterisk must be written before the name of the Responsible Author or Corresponding Author along with the email address (see example). Communication regarding article revisions and the final decision will only be communicated via email to the Correspondence Author.

If the author is more than one, write the names of the authors separated by a comma (,). If the author's name consists of two or more words, the first name should not be abbreviated. If the author's name consists of only one word, write the actual name in one word, however in the online version (HTML) it will be written in two words containing the same name (repeated) for metadata indexing purposes. If the author comes from a different affiliation, the author's name and affiliation are associated with the superscript number "x", as in the example above. (Camdali & Tunc, 2006; Fridman, 2008).

 4. Instructions for Writing Manuscript Contents

Article title: The title of the article must be written briefly and clearly, and must indicate precisely the problem to be raised, not allowing for various interpretations. It should be written entirely in capital letters symmetrically. The article title should not contain uncommon abbreviated words. State the main idea of the article first, followed by any other explanations. The title should at least contain method and objective/aim/goal/purpose.

Abstract:  Abstract must be a summary of the article containing problematic background, objectives, research methods, scientific results, and brief conclusions. Abstract is part of the article so it must be integrated with other sections. The objectives stated in the abstract must be answered in the conclusion.

Introduction: The introduction must contain and be written in sequence: general background and problems, previous literature studies (state of the art) as a solution to date as a basis for statements of scientific novelty from articles, and research problems or hypotheses. At the end of the introduction, the purpose of the article should be written.

Materials, Instruments, Approaches, and Methods: Materials, Instruments, Approaches, and Methods, contain the main ingredients employed in research and the methods used in solving problems, including the method of analysis. The materials listed here are in the form of the main materials only and must be labelled with the brand and purity (for example: H2SO4 (Merck, 99%)). The equipment listed in this section contains only the main equipment with the brand name (for example: Electric Furnace (Carbolite)). The supporting equipment components do not need to be written down. The main set of tools should be presented in this section with a caption. Image captions are placed as part of the figure caption, not as part of the image. The methods used in the completion of the research must be clearly stated in this section.

Results and discussion: Results and discussion contain the results of research findings and their scientific discussion. The scientific findings must be written at utmost clarity  and supported by adequate data. The scientific findings referred to here are not the research data obtained. Scientific findings must be scientifically explained based on the framework below : Are scientific findings obtained? Why did that happen? Why is trend variable like that? All these questions must be explained scientifically, not only descriptively, if necessary supported by adequate scientific basis phenomena. In addition, if the same research topic occurs, the author must explain the comparison of the scientific findings with the research results of other authors. Research results and findings must be able to answer the research hypothesis in the introduction.

Conclusion: Conclusion describes the answer to the hypothesis and/ or research objectives or scientific findings obtained. The conclusion does not contain an iteration of the results and discussion, but rather a summary of the findings as expected in the goal or hypothesis. If necessary, at the end of the conclusion can also be proposed or predicted about the futures discussion or the future research that might arise in relation to further ideas from the research. Conclusions are written in one paragraph without numbering or itemization.

Acknowledgments: Acknowledgments are primarily addressed to research funders or donors. Acknowledgments can also be conveyed to those who helped carry out the research.

Bibilography: All references referred to in the text of the article must be listed in the Bibliography section. Bibliography must contain references derived from primary sources (scientific journals and a minimum of 80% of the total bibliography) published in the last 10 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 10 (ten) bibliography of references. Writing reference systems in article text and bibliography should use a reference management application program for example: Mendeley, EndNote, or Zotero, or others.

5. Guidelines for Writing Equations

Each equation is written in the style: "column center alignment" and is numbered in parentheses and placed at the end of the right margin. Equations must be written using the Equation Editor in MS Word or Open Office (Primack, 1983).

6. Guidelines for Writing Citation / Reference in Article Text

Data quotations or statement citations from other scientific sources must be written as the reference sources. Reference or citation is written in the description / text by means of the author's name and year (Irwan and Salim, 1998). If there are more than two authors, only the first author's name is written followed by "et al" or "et al." (Bezuidenhout et al., 2009; Roeva, 2012). All scientific references in the text must be listed in the Bibliography section, and vice versa, everything that is written in the Bibliography must be referred to in the text (Wang et al., 2011).

7. Bibliography Writing Guide

Writing Bibliography should use a reference management application such as Mendeley, End Note, Zotero, or others. The writing format used in the Jurnal Ekonomi dan Pembangunan Indonesia is the format APA 6th Edition (American Psychological Association).
