Financial literacy should be introduced as early as elementary school so that students develop a basic understanding of how to use and manage money wisely. This activity aims to enhance the knowledge and awareness of MIS Timbang Lawan students regarding money management from an early age, particularly in using their allowance wisely, distinguishing between needs and wants, and developing the habit of saving. The activity was conducted using a qualitative descriptive method as part of the Community Service Program (KKN) at MIS Timbang Lawan, Hamlet 7, Timbang Lawan Village, Bahorok Subdistrict, Langkat Regency, on August 11, 2026. A total of 100 fourth- and sixth-grade students participated in the activity. The education was delivered through PowerPoint presentations, an “Ayo Nabung” icebreaker, games, and a question-and-answer session. Evaluation was conducted descriptively by observing student responses and asking simple questions about the material presented. The results showed that students were enthusiastic about participating in the activity and found it easier to understand the material regarding the difference between needs and wants. Meanwhile, their understanding of the benefits of saving, where to save, and how to apply saving practices to their allowance varied. Thus, financial literacy education using simple, concrete, and interactive materials can serve as one approach to introducing financial management to elementary school students from an early age.
