Abstract

The industrial sector is one of the main drivers of regional economic development because it is capable of increasing productivity, expanding employment opportunities, and encouraging the growth of community business activities. This study aims to analyze industrialization patterns, factors influencing industrial development, the role of companies in supporting industrialization, and the impact of industrialization on the economic conditions of communities in Surabaya and its surrounding areas. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using a library research method through the collection of secondary data obtained from scientific journals, books, government reports, and relevant previous studies. The results indicate that the development of industrialization in Surabaya is influenced by the presence of industrial sectors, small and medium industries, infrastructure availability, and policy support. Companies play a strategic role in creating employment opportunities, increasing product added value, and promoting regional economic growth. Industrialization also has a positive impact on improving community welfare, although it still faces challenges in the form of infrastructure limitations, technological adaptation, and workforce competence. Therefore, effective industrial management is required to achieve sustainable economic development.
